1. Product Overview
P0400VE belongs to Foxboro P0400 series fieldbus power hub family, specially designed only for Foundation Fieldbus FF H1 intrinsically safe field instrument networks, exclusive FF H1 power supply equipment, incompatible with PROFIBUS PA (differentiated from P0400GH dual bus model). It adopts compact 35mm DIN rail mounting structure, installed inside DCS control cabinets to provide segmented isolated power for FF H1 trunk cables, isolating four independent bus branches to avoid cross-segment noise coupling and fault chain propagation.
It receives standard industrial 24VDC cabinet input power and converts it into four fully isolated current-limited FF H1 power outputs. Each bus segment can carry multiple FF H1 pressure, flow, temperature transmitters and intelligent valve positioners. Each branch is equipped with independent overcurrent protection and short-circuit automatic cut-off function; a short-circuit fault on one bus trunk will only disconnect that single segment, without affecting the normal power supply and communication of the other three branches, greatly improving the overall stability and availability of FF H1 fieldbus networks.
Built-in multi-layer real-time diagnostic circuit continuously monitors bus overload, cable break, bus short-circuit, missing termination resistor and power loss faults; each segment corresponds to an independent front panel LED indicator, maintenance staff can quickly locate faulty bus segments without portable fieldbus testers, shortening on-site troubleshooting cycle. The module supports 1:1 master-tracker redundant power configuration: two P0400VE units simultaneously supply power to the same FF H1 trunk line, seamless millisecond power switching occurs when the primary hub fails, no instrument dropout or communication interruption, eliminating single-point power failure risk for critical reactor, distillation and compressor FF H1 control loops.
Internal EMI LC filter circuit suppresses high-frequency switching noise generated by cabinet variable frequency drives and power supplies, providing clean low-noise DC power to ensure stable digital signal transmission on FF H1 bus. The PCB is coated with industrial IPC-CC-830 anti-corrosion conformal coating, complies with ISA S71.04 Class G3 harsh industrial standard, suitable for offshore oil & gas Zone2 hazardous corrosive control room environments.
FOXBORO original production of P0400VE has been discontinued; currently only surplus new stock and fully tested refurbished spare units are supplied for maintenance and transformation of aging I/A Series DCS FF H1 fieldbus systems in power, petrochemical and chemical plants.
